Through our people, leadership development, services, technology and scale, Wabtec delivers better outcomes for global customers by speaking the language of industry.Duties include but are not limited to:Working safely at all times;Setting up and maintaining shop tools and equipment;Reading, understanding and interpreting blueprints;Assembling truck body and up-fitting of utility, service, construction, railway and other custom truck bodies;Proficiency with hand and power tools to assemble truck bodies, cranes, compressors; running wiring, attaching hi-rail gear and other various body components;Installing electrical wiring, hydraulic systems and compressors;Problem resolution for various systems during the installation phase;Coaching and mentoring other employees;Attaching work truck bodies to chassis and running electrical wire and hooking wire harnesses;Using crane and rigging equipment efficiently and safely;Working both independently and in a team environment.Permanent, full-time position;Day shift; 41-hour work week; 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-Th, 7 a.m. to Noon F;Competitive wages; overtime available;Annual vacation; Company-paid holidays;Benefits effective upon hire - Group RRSP/DPSP with Company matching; Life; AD&D; Disability; Health; Dental; Vision;Uniforms, safety-boot allowance and prescription-safety glass allowance upon completion of probationary period;Yearly tooling allowance;Tuition reimbursement;On bus route; on-site parking.Requirements:Proven safety record;Commitment to quality, customer focus and the desire to raise industry standards;Mechanical aptitude;Knowledge of mobile hydraulic systems;Knowledge of automotive electrical systems;Familiarity with the proper use and installation of various fasteners used for installation of above equipment onto automotive vehicles;Must be able to read and write in English;Physical job with heavy lifting at times (up to 50 lbs.)High school diploma or equivalent.Note: Relocation assistance is provided for this position.Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world's toughest challenges.
