Summary

The General Manager (Network Operations) will be responsible for achieving the overall performance goals for productivity, cost, quality, of a multi-client white glove home delivery distribution center.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achieve customer metrics to ensure performance goals are successfully met, decrease incident rates, comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), etc.
  • Develop and achieve agreed budget, revenue and profit (P&L) for site.
  • Ensure all revenue assessorial is captured to maximize revenue at the site, through a good understanding of our client’s contracts.
  • Manage the development of associates through performance management process. Achieve improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring, training, and administering performance reviews.
  • Maximize the performance of the site inventory management system to ensure accuracy and control of client inventory.
  • Manage distribution center manager/supervisors and distribution personnel to ensure a safe and efficient operation of the warehouse and in completing tasks and projects to improve the distribution process.
  • Plan and schedule distribution services, including receiving, shipping, and handling returned/damaged goods and administrative activities to ensure the customer requirements are met.
  • Enforce company safety standards and ensure that associates are complying with policies and procedures to reduce accidents and create a safe working environment.
  • Ensure optimal route utilization on delivery shipments to maximize truck capacity and revenue for the site. A good understanding of the geographical area and working closely with MXD Group centralize routing team.
  • Manage, monitor daily loadout and dispatch processes for home delivery teams daily.
  • Ensure concise and consistent enforcement of company reverse logistics processes to minimize site claims exposure.
  • Create and manage an effective labor plan to ensure proper staffing levels, manage attrition, control labor spend to include seasonal, full-time, part-time, temporary labor and overtime.
  • Take an active role in site workload planning and volume forecasting (i.e. staffing, equipment, space).
  • Create an environment that fosters open and positive team communication by hosting team meetings, stand-ups, planning associate recognition events, individual meetings, and other related formal and informal methods of communication.
  • Ensure customer and vendor contract requirements are administered and enforced.
  • Ensure carriers are complying with the contractual terms identified in their Carrier Contract Agreement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, logistics or supply chain
  • Seven (7) years or more in relevant logistics and transportation experience with a major carrier, dedicated contract or shipper required
  • Six (6) years or more in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required
  • Seven (7) years or more demonstrated experience in developing complete logistics product plans and their implementation required
  • Four (4) years or more supervisory experience required managing/leading direct reports required
  • Three (3) years or more in profit & loss required
  • One (1) year or more with customer interaction required
  • Seven (7) years or more demonstrated experience in developing and implementing complete logistics solutions and project management skills required
  • Two (2) years or more in sales required
  • Seven (7) years or more with multi-clients required
