(DHS-NGO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, faith-based nongovernmental organization that provides essential services to government agencies and other nonprofits following a disaster and/or humanitarian crisis. Currently DHS-NGO is seeking to hiring Case Coordinators for the provision of case management and supportive services to unaccompanied immigrant children (UAC) currently in federal care in child shelters. The Case Coordinator works in collaboration with UAC program staff and supervisors to cultivate a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to service provisions. The Case Coordinator will work primarily to coordinate services for unaccompanied children for a goal of unifying the unaccompanied children with a qualified family member or sponsor located in the United States. The main responsibilities of Case Coordinators will include, but are not limited to: Providing timely review, assessment, and recommendation of release requests to Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR) to ensure release of UAC to a sponsor promptly once it is determined that the sponsor is able to provide for the childs safety and well-being. Assisting ORR in ensuring that children are placed in the least restrictive setting while ensuring safety and minimizing flight risk of UAC. Assisting ORR in ensuring that the UAC are receiving appropriate services. Meeting with individual UAC in instances when there are identified safety concerns and care provider staff at designated ORR-funded care provider sites. Providing targeted child welfare-based assistance to care provider staff, as directed by ORR staff. Providing written assessments, and when necessary, reviewing or providing technical assistance to the written assessments of the care providers case managers and clinicians. Making recommendations for home study and post- release services for at-risk children, in collaboration with the care provider and ORR. Making placement recommendations, including for children who require more specialized levels of care, such as long-term foster care, residential treatment centers, and secure care in collaboration with the care provider and ORR. Collaborating and working on any other tasks specific to the case coordinator as per ORR/DUCO policy and procedures. Participating in collaborative meetings with local stakeholders. Leading case staffing with care providers to discuss individual cases and progress; and Meeting with designated ORR staff to provide updates of individual UAC cases and elevate complex cases as needed. Work as a cohesive team, in a collaborative and effective manner with care provider staff and ORR staff for the safe and timely care, transfer, and release of UAC. Other administrative reporting and client date and information management using case management software. Case Coordinators position requirements include: A bachelors degree in Social Work, or a social science related discipline (e.g., psychology, counseling, healthcare administration, education, or sociology), or at least 5-years demonstrated case management experience. Preferred bilingual in English and Spanish. Verbal Spanish language. Prior experience working with immigrant youth and families is highly preferred. Pass a full criminal background check. Pass a complete paneldrug test. A FBI fingerprint check of national and state criminal history repositories. A child protective services check with the staffs State(s) of U.S. residence for the last five years.
