With work that challenges and makes a difference, within a flexible and supportive environment, we can help our customers achieve their dreams and aspirations.Job DescriptionAt its core, Manulife Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) has two primary accountabilities: it builds and develops the infrastructure capabilities needed to support both business and global initiatives, and it runs the robust, flexible, and cost-effective platforms that underpin day-to-day business operations across North America.The AVP, Data Center provides the leadership vital to ensuring that the Data Center and infrastructure platform operations are coordinated, prioritized, and deliver quality outcomes combined with operational excellence.As the pace of change accelerates and as work intensifies to address legacy infrastructure technology by converging on global technology 'patterns', the incumbent will lead a portfolio of significant infrastructure platforms and projects.Here's what you'll do!Accountable for the overall Data Center operations and IT infrastructure/facilities in branch and campus locations. Includes the solutioning and operation of various platforms such as mainframe, storage, managed file transfer capabilities, and global batch operations.Collaborate to establish working relationships, develop goals, drive consistent performance and continuous communication, and highlight areas of service improvement.Act as the senior escalation point for both technical and stakeholder matters in the overall delivery of technology services within the data centerParticipate in the planning, development and deployment of innovative solutions that meet existing and future business needs with respect to cost, performance, scalability and reliability.Collaborate with business partners to develop and execute a 24-month roadmap that delivers technology services in anticipation of business demand.Optimally communicate plans and provide consultative advice, education and mentorship on the delivery of IT services to the crease collaboration and drive sharing of Operational Best Practices across all Business Units and functions.Build a robust team of experienced support engineers and technology leadersLead and execute consistent and accurate performance/metrics reporting that supply a balanced scorecard and dashboard (weekly/monthly/annually).You bring:Pragmatic leadership of complex Data Center and infrastructure operations, and project delivery achieved by a recognized methodology.Strength in stakeholder management, sophisticated problem solving, and leadership of technical teams.A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical discipline.10 years' experience delivering complex programs/projects, including 5 years of leading teams.An extensive background in implementing and running Data Centers and infrastructure platforms.Good interpersonal, influential and change management skillsProven ability to exercise judgment in assessing business issues and risks in a dynamic environment.Want to learn more?
