Western Canada

Job Summary

Lead and execute sales strategy in Mining Capex in the Western Canada area.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Participate directly with building the Product or Systems team internally, testing arrangements and proposal preparation, for the sale and its successful execution in their market region.

  • Participate, develop and implement sales strategy in Mining Capex, implementing the sales strategy and as required participating in NCA market region sales meetings.

  • Develop marketing plan for their sales area that includes support and communication with NCA marketing personnel. Determine relevant sales area conferences to participate in and identify presentation opportunities at those conferences.

  • Forecasting capex sales in sales area and collaborating with senior sales personnel for accurate and timely numbers.

  • Work closely with peers when project destinations are in other Sales Managers' areas or other countries worldwide.

  • Develop strategic customers as designated by Account Management when required.

  • Oversee accurate and timely proposal submittals to minimize costs, maximize margins in a manner which provides the best opportunity for executing the sale and after-sale margin maintenance.

  • Exercise individual commercial and sales innovation in achieving effective proposals.

  • Provide technical soundness of proposal and terms and conditions which satisfy Outotec legal and commercial requirements and delivery of effective contract documentation when a sale occurs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least eight years' experience in a Mining or Minerals processing position

  • A technical degree in metallurgical, chemical, mechanical or civil engineering

  • A general knowledge of engineering related to Plant and Process designs

  • Background knowledge of mineral and metal processing

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to accomplish his/her responsibilities within the global organizational structure of Metso Outotc.

  • Ability to develop proposals with technology design teams across several Metso Outotec offices around the world.

  • Be able to draw on contact base within the Market Area for current industry knowledge, that includes competitor activity, market trends and product/technology performance.

  • Capable public speaking and giving presentations at regional conferences.

  • Proficiency in software tools such as Powerpoint, Word, and Excel.

  • Proficiency in working within CRM systems, maintaining and establishing opportunities and MA forecasts.

  • Travel up to 50-60% of the time as required for developing sales in the industry.
