Job Description Summary Reporting to the Transportation &
Drayage Manager, the Middle & Last-Mile Delivery Operations Manager
is responsible for managing the physical delivery of orders to
consumers, internal business units, and external customers. The
successful candidate in this role will have experience with
last-mile delivery systems in an e-commerce environment, as well as
experience in business startup and scaling environments. NOTE: To

Responsibilities This individual has direct responsibility over
employee and contingent agency drivers, dispatch staff, capital
equipment and facilities. Manages all aspects of growing parcel
delivery operations. Hires, directs and trains dispatchers,
drivers, and other staff as required. Manages workflows to ensure
timely and accurate delivery of customer orders. Develops and uses
KPI's and reports to track efficiency and profitability. Ensures
adequate capacity is available for deliveries to residential
locations and Company facilities. Develops and maintains a culture
of safety and teamwork. Collaborates with other departments to
provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
Collaborates with Safety and Fleet Services to ensure compliance
for drivers and equipment. Ensures financial performance for Home
Delivery Operations (P&L Responsibility) Investigates accidents
and safety issues. Sets departmental policies and processes.
Prepares reports and invoicing statements for approval Leads and
participates in safety meetings. Manages driver and staff training
programs. Provides support for special transportation needs as
required. Analyze volume, trends, and performance data to determine
areas for growth in terms of revenue and geographic coverage. Other
duties as assigned by department supervisor, manager, and/or

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Strong analytical
background: ability to generate reports, solve problems through
data analysis, and achieve results through performance metrics is a
key factor to success in this role. Superior organization, time
management, and prioritization skills. Proven experience as a
supervisor or manager of local delivery personnel. Maintain
employee motor vehicle records within Company standards for
insurability. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Demonstrated strong sense of integrity Excellent leadership and
conflict resolution skills Problem-solving and decision making
skills Excellent verbal and written communications skills Equipment
Knowledge: Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word
and Outlook); intermediate-level Excel, in particular (e.g.,
SUM/IF, INDEX/MATCH, etc.) Experience with Geotab is a strong plus.
Proficient computer skills Education and Experience Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Business or related field preferred. 10
years of progressive experience in local transportation/delivery
operations 3 years of prior supervisory experience Experience with
FMCSA & Cal-DOT regulations. This position requires extensive
knowledge of local transportation best practices, strong
organizational, time management, analytical, and communication
skills. Teamwork is critical to success in this role: the ability
to communicate with, understand, and collaborate with colleagues,
management, and direct reports in a high-visibility environment, in
person and through distance communications, is key. Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Residential delivery experience in
e-commerce shipping preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is a big plus,
but not required Physical Demands The physical demands described

level of the office environment is low to moderate. Personal
