If this sounds like you, and the career below sounds exciting, we'd like to hear from you.Job DescriptionUS Planning & Corporate NAIC, working closely with partners in the US business unit forecast teams, Group Capital Management, and other areas, oversees all John Hancock local capital forecasting processes, including local Financial Condition Testing (FCT previously DCAT), local basis Plan, interim forecasts and sensitivity analysis, The information generated by these processes is critical to our on-going management of capital needs in the US, including management of remittances to MLI, and assessment of potential strategic initiatives.Reporting to the AVP, the candidate will:Accountable for quarterly and annual Capital and Earnings forecasts (Local Plan and Local FCT); ensure they are developed and submitted in an accurate and timely mannerDemonstrate advanced knowledge of financial impacts of economic market movementsDevelop partnerships with relevant work area management and operational staff, and work with them to understand their operations and support them during the Planning and FCT processWork with appropriate departments to develop and maintain process to assess Company sensitivity to movements in investment markets, particularly with regard to derivative instruments.Lead process improvement initiatives, performing detailed reconciliations, identifying efficiencies, and simplifications, and gathering cross-functional groups to drive solutionsPresent results to Senior Management to keep them informed of issues and status of key capital initiativesManage the Remittances payment to CorporateCollaborate with US Risk on ORSA: review and update language in summary report as deemed necessarySupport year-end deliverables including regulatory filings, surveys, and annual statements.Offer governance support to other NAIC staff by researching complex actuarial and accounting questions, clearly communicating findings, and proposing solutions.Support the ongoing strategic review of reserves and capital methodology and implementing changes as requirements change with the regulatory and economic environment (e.g. PBR; reinsurance treaty implementation, recaptures).Other research and projects as assignedQualifications:FSA/FCIA qualificationProactive, self-directed, and able to work independently and drive projects forwardInquisitive and able to learn new concepts quicklyDetail oriented, excellent analytical and problem solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical concepts to a wide audienceAbility to work collaboratively with individuals from various areas -#LI-JHEvery career at Manulife/John Hancock provides the opportunity to learn new skills and move your career forward.
