The Job Reporting to the Director of Engineering the SRE Manager is responsible for leading the Cloud Operations team, with the key mandate of Managing the team's day to day 24x7 operation, Ensure cloud environment reliability, performance and safety of information. Other critical management opportunities include interacting with our vendors, hosting partners, as well as members of the Operations and Engineering team. Your influence will permeate across the company as you leverage your Cloud Operations expertise in creating a highly available, high performance SaaS environment. As a technology leader, you thrive in a fast paced and Agile environment.-- This is a leadership role, with the opportunity for you to define and execute new methodologies. You will do this by providing daily leadership to the Cloud Operations functions as they work towards achieving the objectives of the business unit. In support of these functions, You will be responsible for benchmarking performance, developing key performance indicators to monitor quality, leading process improvement initiatives, and aligning the organization around key strategic goals to continually improve the level of service provided. Key Responsibilities: ---Define and implement effective cloud infrastructure, services, applications and customer connectivity monitoring and emergency alerting ---Collaborate with product management, engineering, and customer service teams on delivering applications and capabilities to market ---Own the overall application delivery and ongoing service technical operations including performance and availability ---Responsible for the reliability, security and efficiency of PointClickCare's Cloud Environment ---Act as a SaaS commercial product technical leader with a passion for site reliability engineering (SRE). ---Extensive background in managing all aspects of large-scale cloud deployments ---Create a work climate that fosters and encourages innovation and continuous improvement. ---Support the marketing, account management, and sales teams with use cases and operational intelligence (e.g. usage and performances statistics) ---Ensure that customer data is safeguarded to best practices including meeting all required regulatory and compliance requirements such as HIPAA, HITECH, ONC specifications and applicable NIST and ISO standards for data management and safeguards ---Ensure quick recovery from incidents utilizing well defined operational procedures, tools, and efficient communication with various internal and external stakeholders. ---Drive automation efforts to continually increase operational efficiency and quality. ---Continually evolve and refine hosting environments for efficiency, scalability and maintainability. ---Ensure compliance with hosting Service Level Agreements by maintaining smooth, secure and predictable operation of data centers and computing environments. ---Participate in strategic planning, tactical operation planning, and the development of contingency operation plans for all system environments. ---Manage costs of services and hosting environments: ---Work with a variety of service providers, recommend equipment/service purchases ---Manage relationship of 3rd--party service providers and vendors ---Maintain accurate accounts of hosting and software expenditures across all platforms-- ---Work within provided frameworks to ensure policy and procedural compliance. ---Actively pursue and recommend new technologies to help meet business and hosting objectives. ---Ensure that the Operations team members have the proper resources, skills and tools to accomplish their assigned tasks and objectives. ---Lead and empower a world-class, organization responsible for providing reliable and scalable infrastructure across multiple datacenters and cloud providers.-- Required Experience: ---Deep experience in software engineering and/or IT management. ---Proven track record of leading/managing high functioning teams ---Expert level experience working in a--SaaS development and/or delivery environment ---Has worked in an ITIL based service management ---Strong technical operations leadership experience directly managing SaaS operations at a senior level ---Proven record of success in implementing DevOps practices ---Deep experience with deploying to and running on public cloud platforms, with extensive experience in Microsoft Azure. ---Demonstrated ability in running and scaling all aspects of SaaS products, including deep knowledge of infrastructure, global scaling, high availability, security, release practices ---Experience within a highly regulated environment such as HIPPA ---Ability to work well with multiple teams, demonstrating a collaborative and service driven approach to stakeholder partnerships. ---Strong Vender Management acumen. ---Exceptional critical and highly analytical thinking skills; ability to decompose complex problems, prioritize issues, and implement sensible solutions ---Demonstrated ability to lead teams of highly-skilled technology professionals, and develop deep working relationships with peers and executive management. ---Excellent process improvement experience, including the utilization of continuous improvement tools/technologies. ---Proven success demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit to implement innovative and revolutionary programs and service offerings. ---Strong work ethic and resourcefulness; a self-starter who acts with initiative. Qualifications: ---Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other related discipline required. ---Good hands-on experience in a DevOps or System Administration role. ---Prior experience building and supporting cloud-based solutions ---Experience in a production environment supporting mission-critical applications ---Experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby. ---Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design. ---Experience working with configuration management and deployment automation tools like Chef, terraform, Puppet or Ansible. ---Experience within operations, administering both Window (2003/2008/2012) and Linux machines. ---Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle with experience working in QA and beta environments. ---Proficiency in cloud computing concepts as well as on premise. ---Experience working with Azure cloud infrastructure and services is strongly preferred. ---Experience with virtualization and container solutions is strongly preferred. (ie. Docker, Kubernetes, ECS). ---A strong understanding of diverse infrastructure platforms and infrastructure concepts ---A strong understanding of the Agile software development methodology ---Knowledge of standard production practices including change management ---Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
