Job Description:

Industrial Engineering ManagerTo oversee and manage the delivery of consistent standard operational processes using our customers specific methodology (NLS which is based on the Toyota manufacturing). Studies and records TacTime and cycle times using business tools to drive speed to market, improve efficiency and establish process and agreed rates in DC operations. Utilize the guidance provided through the NLS global team to fully embed NLS methodology, principles and way of thinking into the daily operations.Provides support and lead / facilitate Gemba walks, Kaizen, continuous improvement projects, gathering and analyzing data regarding run to sequence of operations, improve lead-time, reduce costs and improve overall efficiencies.Build strategy to train, educate and continually improve self and teams in the understanding NLS methodology and culture. Ability to influence change and implement new initiatives. Work closely with NLS global teams and other DHL NLS sites.Key Accountabilities / Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesCustomer- Work with the NLS global team in conjunction with site management team in regards to operational performance, job instruction standardization and CI initiatives. Report improvements and build strategy / roadmap for future NLS adaption with the Operations director/ GM and NLS global teams. Process- Innovates, implements and manages cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas.- Applies electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including SAP, AutoCAD, MS Project and Production Engineer Labor Standards, modelling and simulations. - Develop a strategy and roadmap for the year to fully embed NLS methodology into the way of working on site.- Implement and manage plans to support warehousing/logistics operations. Designs operations lay- Improves production flow and presentation. - Monitors, compiles and reports Key Performance Initiative (KPI).- Leads team studies related to capacity, waste, productivity and efficiency.- Ensure NLS standards and adherence are maintained.- Leads analysis, development and implementation of new operations processes and technology. - Champion Continuous Improvement Process initiatives across customer site.- Ensure the transfer of best practices across customer sites.- Execution of Customer projects / strategic initiative(s).- Responsible for the education of all teams on the NLS methodology.- Performs other duties as assigned.Performance IndicatorsAchievement of Operational performance (KPI) as defined by customers (contract), internal metrics Attainment of Revenue PlanAchievement of Project execution metricsAchieving Balanced Scorecard initiatives as developed in Strategic Planning process including:Customer initiatives implemented NLS - Not sure how we can measure????Number of initiatives implemented at customer accountNumber of process improvements implemented across customer accountKnowledge/Skills / Abilities- Metric Development - Understanding of Toyota manufacturing way of working- Spoken Communications - able to clearly present information through the spoken word; influence or persuade others through oral presentations in positive or negative circumstances; listens well- Written Communications - able to write clearly and effectively present ideas and to document activities; to read and interpret written information.- Influencing and negotiating Skills- Goal Setting - able to define realistic, specific goals and objectives.--Able to prioritize objectives effectively.--Goals must be measurable and time bound.- Presentation - extensive skills in communicating - both verbal and written - using MS Office tools, Visio, and other complex software tool sets.- Organization & Planning - able to organize or schedule people or tasks; to develop realistic actions plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.- Decision Making & Problem Solving - able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics.- Project Management- Leadership - able to influence the actions and opinions of others in a desired direction; exhibit judgment in leading others to worthwhile objectives.- Team Building - able to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; cooperate with team members and do fair share of team work.- Commitment to Task - able to start and persist with specific course of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency; willing to commit to long hours of work and make personal sacrifice in order to reach goals.
