Job Description:
Job PurposeCreate assembly and fabrication drawing packages, and
mechanical bill of materials.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop
assembly and fabrication drawings per industry standards,
specifications and electrical released for production
drawings.Release approved drawings to production.Create assembly,
sheet metal, and bus fabrication drawings.Support production during
assembly/fabrication process.Create mechanical bill of materials
and log data in manufacturing data base.Ensure project meets
requirements of field measurements and/or existing
equipment.Maintain clean and safe work area.All duties assigned by
your immediate supervisor and/or management.Responsible for
understanding and executing Company goals and objectives while
actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the
team.QualificationsEducationBS in Mechanical Engineering or a
minimum of 5 years relevant experience with switchgear mechanical
design.Non-degreed engineers must have equivalent combination of
education, training, and verifiable experience.ExperienceMV
switchgear (5KV to 38KV) Design, Metal clad and Arc Resistant.LV
switchgear/switchboard (240V to 600V) Design.Non-segregated Bus
Ducts systems Design.Electrical Enclosures Design.Power
Distribution Centers Design.Relay Racks/cabinets Design.Sheet metal
flat and bus bar flat layout design.Field measurements of existing
equipment (travelling is required).Management of Project from Start
to Finish.Structural/seismic calculation reports
coordination.Structural/seismic calculation reports
coordination.Load Interrupting Switchgear design.Unit
Substations.Specialized knowledgeEngineer must be able to read and
interpret electrical drawings and must be familiar with Industry
standards such as: IEEE, ANSI, UL, ASTM, IBC, CA Title 24, NEMA,
MIL-STD,NEC, EUSERC, Utility Service Standards (ESR) and any other
standards related to the design and manufacturing of switchgear
systems.SkillsExtensive skills in 2D AutoCAD, 3D AutoCAD and
Solidworks.Microsoft Office application programs.Excellent
communication skills and be willing to work in a team environment
while maintaining a very high level of organization, product
quality, and cost control.Excellent organizational and follow-up
skills.Strong visualization skills.Strong mathematical
skills.Strong computer skills.AbilitiesEngineer must be ambitious,
proactive, thrive on challenge and hard work, with a demonstrated
ability to independently manage multiple projects.Engineer must
show willingness to learn and work on different product lines.Work
in team to work towards common goal.Able to clearly communicate
with internal and external customers and all levels of
management.Demonstrated time management skills.Able to apply common
sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
verbal, or diagrammatic form.Able to deal with problems involving
