Overview Specialized Packaging Group (SPG) is a private-equity owned manufacturer of protective packaging products. The company operates under two divisions: Ivex Protective Packaging and ProtecPac. The divisions design and manufacture customized packaging solutions at facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Packaging Engineer - Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
This position's primary responsibility is to design product packaging to ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping and display conditions. Tests, analyzes, and selects materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge in software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Artios CAD, testing and protocols ISTA or ASTM
• Knowledge in packaging commodities such as fabricated foam, corrugated & plastic corrugated folding carton, wooden crates, wooden pallets, molded fiber & thermoformed plastics
• Experience designing packaging structures based on foam cushion curves
• Great communication skills, Bilingual (English / Spanish)
• Presentation skills: will interact with customers, needs to be able to present solutions using multimedia tools such as PowerPoint presentations and renders
• Experience preparing prototypes and mockups for customer review and approval using cutting tables
• Hands on and with sense of urgency
  Experience Required:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 year of work experience in packaging design
  • Experience working with external and internal clients, interacting with sales, manufacturing, costing and quality departments
  • Must have excellent communication skill & time management
    Education:
    • BS Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing , Industrial, Mechatronic, Mechanical or Industrial Design.
